Randal Vaughn of SILENT will present a number of demonstrations of electromagnetic shielding applications for electronic product design. Each demonstration will be accompanied by a discussion of the underlying math and physics, as well as some commonly-held engineering assumptions. The demonstrations will include cavity resonances in simple product enclosures, imperfect cable shield terminations, pitfalls of common retrofit techniques, and the characterization of the intrinsic shielding performance of materials.
